PLEASE NOTE: Proposed amendments to the bylaws of the Halifax & Region MFRC are indicated in bold and underlined. Amendments will be voted on at the Annual General Meeting of the H&R MFRC on June 20, 2012. Click here for the amendments.

Brunch Bunch
Big League’s, 920 Cole Harbour Road
Welcome all new and existing CF family members!! Have you ever just wanted to get out of the house and meet new people in the community? Why not be part of our Brunch Bunch and do just that. The last Saturday of every month, we will meet at a different location for brunch and social time away from the kids/pets etc. Come out and meet some new people in your community, and take some time to relax. Feel free to bring a friend/spouse and we’ll see you there.
Saturday, May 26, 11am-1pm
Cost: Participants are responsible for their own meal.
Casual Care: $6/child $9/family.

Summer Day Camp Registration Night
Hampton Gray Building Gym – Shearwater Site; WP 106 Windsor Park – Halifax Site
Age: 5-12 years
The Halifax & Region Military Family Resource Centre Summer Day Camp is back again this year! This nine week program is offered at both the Halifax Site (38 MacDougall Street) and the Shearwater Site (Hampton Gray Building Gym) for children ages 5 to 12. Kids will spend their weeks enjoying a variety of activities and fun learning opportunities, including crafts, field trips, outdoor games, guest speakers and much more fun.
Registration night will be held on Wednesday May 23 Shearwater and Thursday May 24, Halifax, 4:30-6:30 pm. Please note: we cannot accept registrations for either site until the dates posted.
Cost: $120/wk for military families. Post-dated cheques required at registration for all weeks required, dated first day of week.

Shearwater Children’s Centre
Part Day Preschool Registration for September 2012 (for military families only)
Tuesday, May 22 at 8:30am in office #229
2 Day Program (Tues/Thurs) for children ages 3-4 years (must be 3 years old by October 1, 2012)
-Hours are 8:30-11:30am
-All children must be toilet trained
-Spaces are offered on a first come, first serve basis

12 Wing Shearwater 5K Run and Family Fun Day

Military families are invited to spend a day filled with awesome activities at the 12 Wing Run and Family Fun Day, Sunday, May 27. The day starts with the 12 Wing Shearwater 5K Run at 9:30am with participants meeting in front of 3 Hangar. After the run, the family fun begins at 1130am at the PSP Shearwater gym.
* Bouncy castles
* Face painting
* Reptile zoo
* BBQ lunch with hotdogs/hamburgers, chips and pop for only $2.

This is a great opportunity for families to get connected with their community and meet new people. Don’t forget to stop by the H&R MFRC display. For more information, please call 427-7788.

H&R MFRC Annual General Meeting and BBQ
Halifax Site
Meet your Board of Directors for the H&R MFRC! Kick off the summer season with the Halifax & Region Military Family Resource Centre at our Annual General Meeting. Not only will you enjoy a BBQ served by the H&R MFRC’s Board of Directors, but you can hear about all of the cool things we’ve done in the last year and elect next year’s Board of Directors. All military members and their families are invited to attend! Childcare will be provided at no cost to those who attend.
Wednesday, June 20, 4:30 – 5:30 (BBQ), 5:30 – 6:30pm (Meeting) Please RSVP your attendance and if childcare is required by calling 427-7788 by June 14.
