Family Information & Referral Services Team (F.I.R.S.T.)

• The 24 Hour Information and Referral Line offers the following services:

  • Referrals to both military and civilian organizations 

  • Referrals to a duty padre

  • Program Information about MFRC programs, services and events

  • Over the telephone registration for MFRC programs

  • Emergency childcare

  • Referrals to appropriate organizations/agencies in case of an emergency (please note that in Nova Scotia, all emergency services are accessible through calling 911 on the telephone)

  • Emergency and casual apartment Information/booking (for information on Canadian Forces Housing visit the Canadian Forces Housing Agency web site at www.cfha-alfc.forces.gc.ca)

  • Local fax service

  • Military Family Identification Card

    • These are available to spouses and children 13 years of age or older of Canadian Forces members (Regular and Reserve). This service can be provided at our locations in Halifax and Sydney.  Please note that family members must be accompanied by the Military member to access this service.
