Come and get involved with your CAF community! Volunteering leads to personal growth, skill development, resume building and meeting new people. Volunteers contribute on a daily basis to all areas of the Halifax & Region MFRC by volunteering in program facilitation, events and office administration. The H&R MFRC has a full time volunteer coordinator who can answer questions and place you in an area of your interest.
Ways to volunteer
The Halifax & Region Military Family Resource Centre encourages family volunteering as a great way to spend time together, and promote intergenerational learning. Your group could be composed of family members, friends or even co-workers. The goal is to bring together a group of people who are important in your life, to make a difference in someone else’s life. The H&R MFRC has many families volunteering with us for special events such as homecomings, unit departures, and holiday celebrations.
The H&R MFRC has a dynamic youth volunteer core. Activities include special events, junior leadership, youth council, March break camps, summer camps, and special events. Many of the activities take place at the Shearwater Site of the H&R MFRC. The Halifax site offers junior leadership opportunities during March break and summer day camp programs.
Special Event Volunteering
Throughout the year, the Halifax & Region Military Family Resource Centre offers a variety of fun filled activities for individuals and groups to become involved in. These events require a short-term commitment from one day to one week.
