Not too late to join us at The Pride Parade!

Downtown Halifax

For the second year in a row, the H&R MFRC will proudly participate in this year’s Pride Parade, which is one of the many events going on in Halifax during Pride Week (July 20-30). If you’d like to participate, please contact: community@halifaxmfrc.ca. The parade route is about 2.5km and takes just over one hour to complete. It’s a steady incline, and the parade goes on thru rain or shine. Strollers are welcome, and comfy shoes are a must.

The parade starts at 1pm but we will meet beforehand to prep the MFRC van. Hope to see you there!

An open call for backpacks

HMCS Goose Bay & Kingston will be heading north on Arctic Patrol and they don’t want to go empty handed. The Ships’ crew are calling on the community for donations of backpacks and school supplies for children in northern communities. This could be pencils, glue sticks, binders, looseleaf and anything else that can help prepare children for the coming school year. All interested parties can drop off donations at both MFRC locations before Tuesday, August 1, 2017. For more information please contact Sarah-Jean.Mannette@forces.gc.ca.
