Temper Tantrums – Parenting Workshop

Coping with temper tantrums can be one of the most challenging parts of parenting. Join us as we explore possible causes of emotional meltdowns, learn coping strategies and ways to improve communication with your child. This workshop can help you discover ways to help your child cope with frustration, express anger appropriately and bring down the stress level in your household.

Don’t forget to sign up for the H&R MFRC’s awesome 2012 March Break Camp! Youth will enjoy a variety of fun, age-appropriate, interactive activities including games, crafts and a field trip! Children must be enrolled in the 2011-2012 school year to attend.

H&R Block Supports Military Personnel

DEPLOYMENT is defined as: ANY WORK RELATED SEPARATION (i.e. away on courses, training, IR, short and long deployments) This eNews contains highlights of upcoming deployment activities. We’re Talking Reunion!
Halifax Site
The H&R MFRC’s Reunion Workshop is back just in time to prepare for your CF member’s return home from deployment. Many military family members would agree that homecoming is the best part of the deployment process; however it may take some time and patience for life to settle back down again. Like other phases of the deployment cycle, the reunion phase has unique stressors. Our workshop will cover all of these elements and provide you with resources and helpful practices on how you can share your feelings and keep open and honest communications with your loved one during your reunion. There will also be an opportunity for discussion for participants to share joys and challenges of reunion.

Are you experiencing a work related separation due to IR, courses, exercises or short-term deployment? If so, come join us for dinner, connect with other military families and discuss the joys and challenges of your loved ones deployment. Casual care is available for children 5 and under. There will be other fun activities for children 6 and up. Don’t worry we’ll feed the children too.

Cycle of Deployment Workshop

If you are a military family member preparing for a deployment or currently experiencing deployment, you are invited to join the H&R MFRC for the Cycle of Deployment Workshop. This workshop covers the various challenges and opportunities faced before, during and after deployment, while emphasizing positive coping strategies and enhancing positive experiences.

HMCS Charlottetown Family Network Planning Session
Halifax Site
Join other families of HMCS Charlottetown and start planning events for March. Family networks are a wonderful and affordable means for military families with common concerns and interests to join in on a variety of fun social events every month for the duration of the deployment. Consisting of family members and friends of deployed CF members, networks are setup at the beginning of a deployment for families to share information, make new supportive friends and organize all kinds of special outings and events. Casual Care will be provided at no cost to participants.

HMCS Charlottetown CO’s Monthly Family Briefing/VTCs/Pot Luck Supper Event

Please join us for the 2nd CO’s Monthly Family Briefing. The CO will call at 3:00pm and provide us with a power point presentation of the ship’s happenings since they departed Halifax. Following the presentation, we will enjoy a potluck supper and some good conversation. Upon registration, please indicate what you will be bringing for the potluck supper.

The last Friday of the month is an opportunity to be among other French spouses to share a good meal and stories. Everyone is welcome but priority will be given to military spouses. Basketball Workshop

PSP Community Recreation is pleased to be offering a youth basketball workshops. The goal of the workshop is to teach and challenge players in a fun and encouraging environment. This is a great opportunity to improve for any level of basketball player. This workshop is open to both boys and girls ages 9-14. This program is offered at no cost.
