Ages: 5-12 years
Youth will enjoy a variety of fun, age-appropriate, interactive activities including games, crafts and a field trip! Children must be enrolled in the 2011-2012 school year to attend.

“Lets go pee!”- Toilet Learning Workshop for Parents
Halifax Site
No matter how ready parents and caregivers are, potty training will not happen until the child is ready both physically and mentally. Learn readiness signs for toilet training and what you can do to help prepare children for this important step.

DEPLOYMENT is defined as: ANY WORK RELATED SEPARATION (i.e. away on courses, training, IR, short and long deployments) This eNews contains highlights of upcoming deployment activities. Are you experiencing a work related separation due to IR, courses, exercises or short-term deployment? If so, come join us for dinner, connect with other military families and discuss the joys and challenges of your loved ones deployment. Casual care is available for children 5 and under. There will be other fun activities for children 6 and up. Don’t worry we’ll feed the children too.

Cycle of Deployment Workshop
Halifax Site
If you are a military family member preparing for a deployment or currently experiencing deployment, you are invited to join the H&R MFRC for the Cycle of Deployment Workshop. This workshop covers the various challenges and opportunities faced before, during and after deployment, while emphasizing positive coping strategies and enhancing positive experiences.

HMCS Charlottetown Family Network Planning Session
Halifax Site
Join other families of HMCS Charlottetown and start planning events for March. Family networks are a wonderful and affordable means for military families with common concerns and interests to join in on a variety of fun social events every month for the duration of the deployment. Consisting of family members and friends of deployed CF members, networks are setup at the beginning of a deployment for families to share information, make new supportive friends and organize all kinds of special outings and events. Casual Care will be provided at no cost to participants.

HMCS Charlottetown CO’s Monthly Family Briefing/VTCs/Pot Luck Supper Event
Halifax Site
Please join us for the 2nd CO’s Monthly Family Briefing. The CO will call at 3:00pm and provide us with a power point presentation of the ship’s happenings since they departed Halifax. Following the presentation, we will enjoy a potluck supper and some good conversation. Upon registration, please indicate what you will be bringing for the potluck supper.

Individual VTCs will be taking place from 1:00 – 2:45pm and 3:45 – 7:00pm

Francophone Night Out

Hamachi Grill & Sushi House, 644 Portland Street, Dartmouth, NS
This program is conducted in french. Francophone family members are invited to join us for a monthly night out to different restaurants throughout Halifax & Dartmouth. Everyone is welcome but priority will be given to military spouses. Spaces are limited, so book early to guarantee your seat Friday! Fun and laughter guaranteed.
Participants are responsible for the cost of their meal.

Dad & Me: Pizza and Skate
PSP Arena – Shearwater
Calling dads and their children! Get your skates sharpened and join the H&R MFRC for a fun-filled afternoon of ice skating and pizza! Come out and meet other family members and enjoy some quality time together.

Standard First Aid and CPR Level “C”
Shearwater Site
This two day program trains students in Standard First Aid & CPR. This course provides students with specific knowledge and skills that enable them to recognize and respond to an emergency situation. Students receive certification after obtaining a minimum of 70% on written & practical exercises. Participants must bring their own lunch.
February 25 & 26, 2012, 8:00am-4:00pm
Cost: $10/military participants
Registration Deadline: February 22. Please register by calling 720-1885. Very limited spaces are available and only those who have made full payment are considered registered. Priority will be given to military family members.

Unless otherwise listed, programs at the Halifax Site are located in the Piers Military Community Centre, Bldg 106 Windsor Park and programs at the Shearwater Site are located in the Hampton Gray Memorial Bldg. Please pre-register for MFRC programs, including childcare. Registration is not complete until participants have paid for the program/event. Credit and debit payment options are available for transactions over $5. To register for programs please call 427-7788 (Halifax Site) or 720-1885 (Shearwater Site).
